Guy Carman Icangelo, Jr.Attorney
With 20 years of experience behind him, attorney Guy Carman Icangelo, Jr. is dedicated to protecting the rights of car accident victims and other injured individuals throughout Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Okeechobee and Indian River Counties. Mr. Icangelo practices exclusively in plaintiff’s personal injury cases. He has handled the full range of these claims, extending from motor vehicle collisions and slip and falls to medical malpractice, negligent security, products liability, and wrongful death.
In all accident or negligence cases, the injured party bears the burden of proving that the negligence of others caused their injuries. Mr. Icangelo works diligently to meet that burden of proof. Although the insurance companies and big-box stores have vast resources, Mr. Icangelo puts his team at Frankl & Kominsky to work in order to develop the evidence necessary to argue any case and achieve a successful outcome. Although the insurance companies may treat your case like a number, Mr. Icangelo and his team at Frankl & Kominsky represent individuals, and they never forget that it is an honor to represent a person who has chosen them to fight for their rights.
In all car accident and truck crashes, medical malpractice, nursing home and negligent security types of cases, the proof required for success takes special skills developed over time that are courtroom tested. Over the course of his 20 years of experience, Mr. Icangelo has been on both sides of these cases. Early in his career, Mr. Icangelo defended doctors, hospitals, nursing homes and drivers accused of causing accidents. Over the last 10 years, Mr. Icangelo has brought his skills to the courtroom on behalf of the injured nursing home resident and their families, those injured by medical malpractice, people injured in car crashes, trucking accidents and negligent security cases. The experience of having been on both sides of any given issue is one key to a successful result.
Injured individuals who succeed in a negligence claim often are entitled to receive a broad range of economic and non-economic damages. These may include reimbursement for medical bills, the costs of future treatment, lost wages and lost earning capacity, property damage, and pain and suffering. It is important to avoid any delay in taking legal action after an accident, since your right to pursue compensation probably will be barred if you fail to file a claim within the appropriate statute of limitations. This is generally four years in personal injury cases, and it is only two years in wrongful death actions arising from a tragic loss of life.
Knowledgeable in personal injury and wrongful death claims, Mr. Icangelo received his B.S. from Emerson College in 1982 and his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 1995. In law school, he served as the President of the Moot Court Board. Mr. Icangelo was admitted to practice in the State of Florida in 1995, as well as the U.S. District Courts in the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeal for the Eleventh Circuit. He is a member of the Florida Bar Association, as well as the Palm Beach County Bar Association and the Palm Beach County Justice Association.
Like his colleagues at Frankl & Kominsky, Mr. Icangelo believes that you should never settle for less than what you deserve for your injuries. If you have been harmed by a negligent person or entity, he is ready to advocate vigorously for your rights in settlement negotiations or in the courtroom.
